Titans Rally in Final Game of the Regular Season, Come Back To Defeat New Miami

The 2024-2025 regular baseball season was a strong one, and the SBEP Titans capped it off by rallying to beat New Miami 9-4 on Friday. The Titans trailed by as many as four runs throughout the game. New Miami got on the board in the top of the fourth inning after a bases loaded walk and a double down the left field line each scored a run. The Titans came out swinging in the bottom of the sixth, scoring nine runs on six hits to take a 9-4 lead. The biggest blow of the inning was an error that scored two runs. Logan Davis picked up the win for SBEP. The hurler gave up five hits and two runs in three and one-third innings, striking out four and walking four. Baker took the loss for New Miami. The pitcher went one third of an inning, giving up four runs (zero earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking one. Jason Helphinstine took the mound first for the Titans. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out three and walking one. New Miami's starting pitcher gave up three hits and three runs in five and one-third innings, striking out six and walking six. Mason Stone pitched in relief for the St. Bernard-Elmwood Place Varsity Titans. Jason Helphinstine was a driving force in the middle of the lineup, leading the Titans with three runs batted in. The number three batsman went 2 for 4 on the day. Logan Davis and Jason Helphinstine each collected two hits for SBEP. Mason Stone paced the St Bernard-Elmwood Place Varsity Titans with three walks. The team showed impressive patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Lucas Cannady had a big day on the base paths, stealing three of the team's nine stolen bases. With the regular season concluded, the Titans now set their sights on the postseason. They will play against Cincinnati Country Day at 5:00 p.m. this Wednesday, May 21. The game will take place at CCD.
