St. Bernard-Elmwood Place delivered a commanding road performance Thursday, sweeping North College Hill 3-0. The Titans won 25-9, 25-14 and 25-21, combining a sharp attack with relentless service pressure to finish the match in three sets.
The Titans established control immediately with a 16-point victory in the opening set. Their strong play continued in the second, when they earned an 11-point win and built a 2-0 match advantage. St. Bernard-Elmwood Place finished with 25 kills and only eight attack errors across 58 attempts, giving the offense the consistency it needed to keep North College Hill on its heels.
Brie Morris led the attack with seven kills while making an even bigger impact from the service line with a team-high nine aces. Tessa Jewell directed the offense with 18 assists and supplied four kills, five aces and six digs. Together, Morris and Jewell helped the Titans turn strong serving and steady ball distribution into points throughout the match.
The balanced effort extended across the lineup. Joselynn Telinda recorded seven aces, and Makayla Harris contributed five kills. Bella Potter and Deven Renner added three kills apiece, while Mikezni Smith had two and Hayden Spears finished with one. The Titans recorded 24 assists and 24 service aces as a team, doing their damage without a recorded block.
North College Hill fought back in the third set and made the Titans work through the closest stretch of the match. St. Bernard-Elmwood Place answered the challenge with enough composure to close out a 25-21 win. The Titans also totaled 20 digs, with Jewell’s six leading the defensive effort as the team protected its late advantage and completed the sweep.
The victory showcased The Titans’ strong will in the opening two sets and their ability to respond when North College Hill raised the pressure in the third. St. Bernard-Elmwood Place will next host Oyler on Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, at 6 p.m. EDT.
