Fighting Saints complete another program sweep with varsity win over Oswego

Darren Howard | St Charles East High School | Apr 7, 2026

St. Charles East kept its strong run going Monday night, as the Fighting Saints women’s badminton program earned another sweep at home against Oswego. Varsity led the way with an 11-4 victory, while JV1 added a 12-3 win and JV2 followed with a 13-2.

The headline result came from varsity, where the Fighting Saints delivered the kind of balanced effort that has become a theme early this season. St. Charles East consistently found points across the lineup and controlled the overall match from the start, turning steady singles play and dependable doubles results into a clear team advantage. Even without individual match-by-match results provided, the 11-4 final showed the Saints were able to build separation and hold it.

That depth has helped define the program’s spring so far. After a road sweep of Elgin in late March, with varsity winning 11-4 and both JV levels posting 15-0 shutouts, the Saints followed with an even more dominant outing against South Elgin, where varsity won 14-1 and JV and JV2 each finished 15-0. Monday’s home victory over Oswego did not need to be quite as lopsided to reinforce the same message, the Fighting Saints continue to bring strength throughout the ladder and across all levels.

The lower levels made that point loud and clear again. JV1’s 12-3 win and JV2’s 13-2 performance gave St. Charles East another complete night, one that reflected both talent and consistency from top to bottom. Those results added to the energy in the gym and underscored the progress the program is making as a whole, not just at the varsity level.

While the author-supplied highlights, match summary and key performances sections did not include additional player-specific details, the team result still told a strong story. The Fighting Saints protected home court, continued a stretch of program-wide success and once again gave their school community plenty to celebrate. With another sweep in the books, St. Charles East heads into its next stretch with momentum and a lineup that continues to produce at every level.
