Fighting Saints Flag FB Blank South Elgin Red Storm 32-0 With Complete Road Performance

The St. Charles East Fighting Saints delivered at both ends of the field Monday afternoon, earning a commanding 32-0 varsity victory over the South Elgin Red Storm. The decisive factor was a defense that protected the shutout from the opening possession through the final whistle, repeatedly stopping the Red Storm and giving the Saints opportunities to build their lead.

St. Charles East capitalized on those opportunities with a balanced team effort. The offense produced 32 points and steadily created separation on the scoreboard, while the defense made sure each score carried additional weight. With South Elgin unable to answer, the Fighting Saints maintained control and completed an impressive road performance.

The shutout highlighted the varsity team's continued improvement as the season progresses. Every defensive stop helped sustain momentum, and the offense followed with enough scoring production to put the game firmly in the Saints' hands. No individual statistics were recorded, but the final score reflected contributions throughout the lineup and a disciplined collective performance.

The program's junior varsity squad also added to a successful trip to South Elgin, securing a 7-2 victory. Holding the Red Storm to two points gave the JV Saints another strong defensive result, while the offense supplied the scoring needed to complete the sweep. Together, the two victories provided an encouraging snapshot of the progress being made throughout the St. Charles East program.

The varsity game was played under clear skies with a temperature of 84 degrees and winds around 16 mph. St. Charles East handled those conditions and left South Elgin with two victories, plenty of confidence and another chance to continue building. The varsity Fighting Saints return to the road Tuesday, Sept. 1, for a 6 p game at Bolingbrook.
