Fighting Saints Girls Swim Top Hornets 95-83 Behind Individual Wins and 400 Relay
St. Charles East won again on Saturday, defeating the Hornets 95-83 in girls swimming and diving. The 12-point victory featured individual event wins, an important relay triumph and the scoring depth needed to prevail in a competitive dual meet at the Fighting Saints' home pool in St. Charles, Illinois.
Mia Fuscone led the individual winners with a first-place performance in the 200 freestyle. That victory provided a valuable boost in one of the meet's longer races and helped the Saints build their winning total. Olivia Friedrich also earned the Diving event victory, adding another first-place finish to a balanced St. Charles East effort.
The 400 relay team supplied one of the meet's biggest highlights. Paige Tripp, Lily Englehart, Claire Lewandowski and Mia Fuscone combined for the relay victory, bringing four contributors together for a key result. Their performance underscored the Saints' ability to pair individual success with strong teamwork in the relay events.
Those victories formed the foundation of the final score, but the 95-point total also reflected a collective performance across the meet. St. Charles East continued to gather the points necessary to stay ahead of the Hornets, turning contributions throughout the lineup into a hard-earned home win.
