Fighting Saints power past Batavia 10-5 behind Wulf’s 12-strikeout complete game

St. Charles East kept its strong conference run rolling Wednesday night, beating Batavia 10-5 behind a dominant complete-game effort from Hannah Wulf and another productive night at the plate from a lineup that continues to pile up big swings. The Fighting Saints used Wulf’s 12 strikeouts as the foundation, then backed her with steady offense to earn the road win and move to 15-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

The decisive edge came from the Saints’ ability to keep pressure on Batavia throughout the game. Wulf controlled key moments in the circle, working all seven innings and limiting Batavia’s chances to build momentum. Every time the Bulldogs looked to answer, St. Charles East had a response, either with a shutdown inning from Wulf or another quality at-bat from the middle of the order.

Offensively, the Fighting Saints stacked up hits across the lineup. Beers led the way with three hits, continuing a hot stretch for the Saints offense. LaRose added two hits, and Van Dinther also finished with two, giving St. Charles East production in several spots and helping the team string together scoring opportunities instead of relying on one big inning alone. That balance has become a hallmark for the Saints during this successful stretch.

Hayden Sujack supplied one of the biggest swings of the night with another home run, adding to what has already been a standout season for the Saints slugger. The long ball gave St. Charles East an extra spark and helped reinforce the advantage as the Saints continued to apply pressure. Combined with the multi-hit efforts around her, Sujack’s power bat once again proved to be a difference-maker.
