Fighting Saints Secure Victory in Winter Break Dual Meet

On December 27, 2025, St. Charles East High School's varsity boys swimming & diving team, known as the Fighting Saints, emerged victorious in a closely contested dual meet against Lake Park High School's Lancers. The event was held at the Norris Recreation Center, where the Fighting Saints won with a score of 95 to 84, maintaining their unbeaten streak in the season's dual meets to 3-0. A significant moment of the meet was the Fighting Saints' win in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The relay, comprising Grayson Belli, Justin Collins, Declan Brakel, and Trenton Forni, showcased outstanding teamwork and skill. Individual event winners included Trenton Forni in the 200 Freestyle, Carter Annarella in diving, and Charlie Cabel in the 500 Freestyle. These performances were part of a broader team effort where many swimmers scored points between the trenches of each event and competed in off events, which according to Coach Musial, illustrated the Saints' continued growth as a team. Coach Musial praised the team's depth and collaborative spirit, noting, 'This was a full team effort win. A lot of our points were scored through depth which led to outscoring our opponent overall for each event. This was a great meet for us in the middle of our winter break training.' Looking ahead, the Fighting Saints will face Saint Charles North High School North Stars on January 2, 2026, at the Norris Recreation Center for the annual crosstown For Scout meet. The For Scout meet is not only a dual meet but a charity fundraiser for the For Scout Foundation. All admission costs from the meet will go directly to the For Scout Foundation.
