Fighting Saints Soccer Pull Away From Bartlett for 4-1 Victory
ST. CHARLES, Ill. - St. Charles East struck twice in a decisive 2:24 span early in the second half to pull away from Bartlett for a 4-1 victory Friday. Aidan Richbell and Dylan Carey delivered the goals that turned a one-score match into a commanding win, helping the Fighting Saints improve to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Huxley Kapoor opened the scoring at the 19:11 mark of the first half, finishing a chance created by Theo Jakobsen. Alaa Dahab doubled the advantage at 9:09 off an assist from Anthony Sanfilippo, rewarding a sharp St. Charles East attack with a 2-0 lead.
Bartlett answered at 3:46 to trim the margin to 2-1 before halftime, but the Fighting Saints responded quickly after the break. Richbell restored the two-goal cushion at 37:13, with Kapoor providing the assist to add playmaking duties to Kapoor's opening goal.
Carey followed at 34:49, converting Brendan Szerlong's setup to make it 4-1. The back-to-back goals gave St. Charles East firm control, while the Saints' defense kept Bartlett off the scoreboard throughout the second half. Goalkeeper Jason Striegel played all 80 minutes, made four saves and allowed only the first-half goal.
The balanced performance featured four different goal scorers and four assisted goals, with Kapoor contributing both a goal and an assist. St. Charles East will carry that momentum on the road against Wheaton North at 6:30 p on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026.
