Fighting Saints Soccer Shut Out Lake Park 5-0 Behind Pariso’s Two Goals
SAINT CHARLES, Ill. - St Charles East High School powered past Lake Park 5-0 on Tuesday, September 29, in Saint Charles, with Dylan Carey’s opening goal launching a decisive four-goal first half. Colten Pariso scored twice, Sam Arville supplied two assists, and Jason Striegel made five saves as the Fighting Saints paired a productive attack with a clean sheet in the conference matchup.
Carey put St Charles East ahead off an assist from Arville with 29:35 on the first-half clock. Just 1 minute, 28 seconds later, Pariso finished a setup from Colin Harrington to make it 2-0. Those quick strikes gave the Saints a strong foundation, with two different scorers and two different providers contributing to the opening surge.
The Saints continued to share the scoring work. Brendan Szerlong extended the lead to 3-0 with 17:07 remaining in the half, converting an assist from Huxley Kapoor. Kapoor then added a goal of their own, finishing a chance supplied by Will Wade with just 52 seconds left before halftime. St Charles East entered the break ahead 4-0, with four players having scored.
Pariso completed the scoring with 19:40 on the second-half clock, connecting again with Arville for a 5-0 advantage. Pariso’s second goal capped a five-goal performance in which every finish carried an assist. Arville had a hand in both the opening goal and the final strike, while Kapoor contributed as both a scorer and a provider.
At the other end, Striegel played all 80 minutes and stopped all five shots faced, anchoring the shutout as the Saints moved to 4-1-0 in conference play.
