Fighting Saints Soccer Strike Twice in First Half, Shut Out Hononegah 2-0
St. Charles East turned two well-crafted first-half attacks into a 2-0 victory over Hononegah, with Huxley Kapoor delivering the opening goal and Colin Harrington adding the decisive insurance strike. The Fighting Saints carried that advantage through the full 80 minutes, improving to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Kapoor broke through with 31:16 showing in the first half, finishing an opportunity created by Theo Jakobsen to give St. Charles East a 1-0 lead. The combination provided the early momentum the Fighting Saints needed and rewarded their work in the attacking third.
St. Charles East doubled its advantage before halftime. With 18:49 remaining in the opening half, Brendan Szerlong set up Harrington for the second goal, sending the Fighting Saints into the break ahead 2-0.
