Fighting Saints Softball roll into regional final with 15-0 semifinal win

Darren Howard | St Charles East High School | May 20, 2026

St. Charles East powered into the IHSA Regional Final on Tuesday, riding a dominant all-around performance to a 15-0 victory over Addison Trail in the regional semifinal East. The decisive force was in the circle, where Hannah Wulf threw a no-hitter and piled up 10 strikeouts, setting the tone from the first pitch as the Fighting Saints secured a playoff shutout on their home field.

Wulfs' outing gave the Fighting Saints complete control of the game. She never allowed Addison Trail to find any rhythm at the plate, and her 10-strikeout no-hit effort stood as the centerpiece of the afternoon. In a postseason setting, that kind of command gave St. Charles East exactly what it needed, quick innings, steady momentum and a chance to let the offense keep applying pressure.

The Saints did exactly that with a lineup full of contributors. The offense was led by a string of multi-hit performances from Beers, Sujack, Maple, VanDinther and Higgins, a balanced attack that kept runners moving and forced Addison Trail to defend every inning. Rather than leaning on one big swing, St. Charles East built the margin with repeated quality at-bats and production throughout the order.

That combination of pitching, timely hitting and clean defense made this the kind of complete playoff performance teams hope to carry deeper into May. The Fighting Saints were sharp in every phase, turning a regional semifinal into a confident step forward. The shutout, the no-hitter and the depth of the offense all reflected a team playing with energy and purpose at the right time of year.

With the win, St. Charles East moves on to face the winner of Schaumburg and Glenbard North in the IHSA Regional Final on Friday at 4 p.m. If Tuesday was any indication, the Fighting Saints will take that next field with plenty of momentum after one of their strongest performances of the postseason.
