Fighting Saints Sweep Hinsdale Central to Improve to 3-0

E HS | St Charles East High School | Sep 2, 2026

St. Charles East Girls Volleyball opened September with another strong performance, defeating Hinsdale Central 2-0 Tuesday night on the road. The Fighting Saints secured the straight-set victory with scores of 25-17; 25-21, improving to 3-0 to begin the season.

St. Charles East established control with an eight-point victory in the opening set. Hinsdale Central made the second set more competitive, but the Saints answered the challenge and finished the match with a 25-21 decision. The balanced attack produced contributions across the front row, while timely defense and serving helped the Saints complete the sweep.

Outside hitter Emma Phillips led the attack with 11 kills and added seven digs, making an impact on both sides of the net. Fellow outside hitter Scarlett Dickerson supplied 5 kills, giving the Saints another productive option on the pin. Right-side hitter Mackenzie Finn contributed 2 kills as East continued to spread its offense.

Setter Franki Fevold directed that attack with 17 assists while adding 1 kill, 1 block, 3 digs and 1 ace. Middle hitter Nora Lange delivered 1 kill, 2 blocks and 2 aces, providing an important presence at the net and from the service line. Those all-around performances helped the Saints maintain their momentum through both sets.

The varsity victory was part of the second straight program sweep for St. Charles East girls volleyball, with every lower-level team earning a victory as well. That program-wide success added another celebratory chapter to the Saints’ unbeaten start this season. The Saints look ahead to the upcoming weekend as they travel to Conant High School to compete in the Peggy Scholten Classic; their first tournament of the season.
