Senior Night brought another rivalry win for St. Charles East, as the Fighting Saints swept St. Charles North across all three levels Monday at home. The varsity squad edged the North Stars 8-7 in the headline match, while JV matched that 8-7 result and JV2 delivered a 12-3 victory to complete a celebratory night at East.

For the Saints, the result added another strong chapter to a season filled with program-wide success. In a tight varsity matchup, every point carried extra weight, and St. Charles East did enough in both singles and doubles to finish on top against its cross-river rival. The narrow margin reflected the back-and-forth nature of the evening, but the Saints found the decisive wins they needed to protect home court and give the seniors a memorable sendoff.

The JV team followed a similar script, battling to an 8-7 win of its own. That result underscored the depth in the Fighting Saints program, especially in a rivalry setting where composure often becomes the difference. JV2 provided the most decisive team performance of the night, rolling to a 12-3 victory and giving the home crowd another reason to celebrate as the sweep came into focus.

Even without additional individual match details available, the team result told the story clearly. St. Charles East answered the moment on a night built around seniors, pride and rivalry, and the Saints continued a trend that has defined much of the spring. The program has now stacked together several strong performances, including previous sweeps over Elgin, South Elgin and Oswego, along with a conference-opening win against WWS Tigers.

Monday’s rivalry sweep may have been one of the most satisfying yet because of the setting and the stakes that came with it. Senior Night already carried emotion, and beating St. Charles North made it louder. The Fighting Saints walked off their home courts with three team wins, a successful night from top to bottom and another example of the standard the program has set this season.
