Fighting Saints Sweep Wheaton North for Fourth Straight Win

The St. Charles East Fighting Saints rolled to their fourth straight victory Tuesday, sweeping Wheaton North 2-0 on the road. The Saints claimed the opening set 25-17 before completing the win with a 25-19 result in the second set, finishing the match with an eight-point margin in the opener and a six-point cushion in the finale.
A balanced attack powered St. Charles East throughout the match. Outside hitter Scarlett Dickerson led the way with nine kills while adding three blocks and two digs. Dickerson’s production at the net gave the Saints a reliable scoring option on offense and a strong presence defensively.
Emma Phillips supplied another all-around performance from the outside, recording seven kills, one block, one assist and eight digs. Middle blocker Nora Lange matched Phillips with seven kills and also delivered four aces, four block assists and two digs. Lange’s work from the service line helped St. Charles East apply pressure, while the combined contributions of Dickerson, Phillips and Lange kept the attack from becoming dependent on one hitter.
Setter Franki Fevold directed that balanced offense with 21 assists. Fevold also contributed two kills, two blocks and five digs, making an impact in every phase of the sweep. With Fevold distributing the ball, the Fighting Saints were able to involve multiple attackers and sustain their advantage across both sets.
The back row and service game rounded out the team effort. Libero Gianna Gjokaj collected six digs, 2 assists and served two aces. St. Charles East finished with seven aces among the listed standouts with Gianna Marziani-Radomski recording one of her own as the Saints’ combination of serving, defense and net play helped limit Wheaton North to fewer than 20 points in each set.
The two-set victory continued an impressive stretch for the Fighting Saints and provided another example of the program's depth as the sophomore and both freshman teams earned victories as well against the Falcons. St. Charles East will next turn their attention to the upcoming weekend as they get set to compete in the Woodstock Invitational!
