Huxley Kapoor Nets Hat Trick as Fighting Saints Soccer Shut Out Batavia 4-0
SAINT CHARLES, Ill. - Huxley Kapoor scored the opening goal and finished with a hat trick as St Charles East High School defeated Batavia 4-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 6. The Fighting Saints took control of the score with two first-half goals, then added two more after the break to complete the conference victory.
Brendan Szerlong supplied the assist on Huxley Kapoor's opener at 36:22 on the first-half clock, giving the Saints a lead they would hold throughout the match. Brendan Szerlong then moved from provider to scorer, finishing off an assist from Will Wade at 17:37. Those contributions sent the Saints into halftime ahead 2-0, with both opening goals coming from assisted finishes.
The scoring continued in the second half when Huxley Kapoor converted an assist from Sam Arville at 35:32 to extend the advantage to 3-0. With 8:30 showing on the clock, Huxley Kapoor added a penalty kick to complete the hat trick and establish the final margin. The three-goal performance accounted for most of the Saints' offense, while three different teammates contributed assists.
At the other end, goalkeeper Jason Striegel played all 80 minutes and made two saves without allowing a goal. The shutout complemented an attack that produced two goals in each half, giving the Saints a complete result on both sides of the ball.
The victory brought the Saints' conference record to 5-1-0, with Brendan Szerlong's goal and assist adding another standout contribution alongside Huxley Kapoor's hat trick.
