Kapoor Assists Both Goals as Saints Soccer Shut Out Rockford East
SAINT CHARLES, Ill. - Anthony Sanfilippo delivered the opening goal, Huxley Kapoor assisted on both scores, and St Charles East High School defeated Rockford East 2-0 on Thursday, October 1. The Fighting Saints paired a goal in each half with a shutout from Jason Striegel to finish the 80-minute match without conceding.
Sanfilippo broke the deadlock at 34:09 of the first half, finishing with an assist from Kapoor. That connection supplied the only goal before the break and sent St Charles East into halftime ahead 1-0. Sanfilippo's finish gave the Saints an advantage that their defense protected through the remainder of the match.
Aidan Richbell added the second goal at 32:33 of the second half, again with Kapoor providing the assist. Richbell's finish extended the lead to 2-0 and gave the Saints an additional cushion. With a hand in both scoring plays, Kapoor linked the two halves of the attack, helping two different teammates find the net.
Striegel played all 80 minutes in goal, making two saves and allowing no goals. Both stops contributed to preserving the clean sheet, while the Saints kept Rockford East scoreless in each half. The result brought together contributions at both ends: two assisted goals in attack and a full-match shutout behind them.
St Charles East's conference record stands at 4-1-0. Sanfilippo and Richbell supplied the finishes, Kapoor recorded both assists, and Striegel completed the shutout.
