St. Charles East breaks it open early, finishes off Glenbard North 11-1

St. Charles East set the tone in the opening innings and never let up Wednesday night, rolling past Glenbard North 11-1 to complete a conference series sweep and improve to 13-4 overall and 5-1 in the DuKane Conference.
The decisive stretch came early. The Fighting Saints collected six hits over the first two innings and turned that fast start into a 5-0 lead. Dylan McCabe started the first-inning rally with a one-out double. After James Feigleson walked, Gavin Fuscone reached on an infield error that brought McCabe home and moved Feigleson to third. Feigleson then scored on a double steal, and Nate Moline followed with an infield single that plated Fuscone for a 3-0 advantage.
St. Charles East added two more runs in the second. Sean Groselak singled to center and later moved to third before Kyle LaRose doubled. McCabe brought home Groselak with an RBI groundout to shortstop, and Feigleson lined a double that scored LaRose to make it 5-0. The Saints added on again in the fourth when McCabe doubled with two outs and Feigleson answered with another RBI double, pushing the lead to 6-0.
McCabe and Feigleson led the offense all night. McCabe finished 3 for 5 with three doubles, three runs scored and four RBIs. His biggest swing came in the seventh, when he drove a first-pitch fastball into the right-center gap for a three-run double that stretched the margin to 10-0. Feigleson went 3 for 4 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run. Andrew Evans, Tyler Phillips and Groselak added two hits apiece, and Moline drove in a run.
The Saints kept pressure on Glenbard North in the fifth. Evans opened the inning with a single to left, Phillips added a one-out single to right, and LaRose reached on an outfield error that allowed courtesy runner Oscar Perez to score for a 7-0 lead. In the seventh, Niko Vahmistrovs worked a one-out walk, Phillips singled and Groselak dropped down an infield bunt hit to load the bases. After a strikeout, McCabe cleared them with his third double of the game. Fuscone then reached on another infield error, bringing home McCabe for the Saints' final run.
Andrew Evans handled the pitching work up front and kept Glenbard North off the board through six innings. He scattered five hits, walked one and struck out three in a scoreless outing. McCabe took over in the seventh and allowed one hit while striking out three as St. Charles East closed out another strong conference win.
