St Charles East High School Boys Swimming & Diving Team Excels at Invitational

In a remarkable display of skill and teamwork, the St Charles East High School Boys Swimming & Diving team, also known as the Fighting Saints, achieved impressive results at two recent invitational meets on December 13, 2025. The events were held at different locations, with the JV team competing at Deerfield High School and the Varsity team at Barrington High School. At the JV Warrior Sprint Classic, the Fighting Saints scored 125 points and secured the 9th place, while their Varsity team shined at the Bronco Relays, amassing 414 points to finish 3rd in the White Division. This event was particularly noteworthy as the Diving Relay team of Carter Annarella and Anthony Pistilli clinched 1st place in the Boys 1 mtr Diving Relay Event with a score of 279.45 for a combined 11 dives. Coach Musial commented on the invites, stating that the Deerfield JV Sprint Classic allowed swimmers to try new events and progress in their stroke development, while the Varsity Bronco Relay Meet showcased the divers and the team's underclassmen strength in numbers. He described the Bronco meet as 'a fun formatted meet' that highlighted the team's young talent. Further highlighting the team's prowess, the Freshmen/Sophomore 200 Medley Relay team consisting of Grayson Belli, Trenton Forni, Garrett Mruk, and Jimmy Slater not only took 1st place but also recorded the fastest time across both divisions with a time of 1:49.35. Similarly outstanding performances were seen in the Freshmen/Sophomore 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay, with both teams capturing 1st place at the meet. The Fighting Saints look forward to their next challenge at the Neuqua Valley Varsity Invitational starting with Diving on December 19, 2025 and Swimming on December 20, 2025, at Neuqua Valley High School. This upcoming event promises another opportunity for the team to demonstrate their abilities and continue their successful season with different competition.
