St. Charles turned a strong day at home into a championship Saturday, closing the St. Charles Invite with an 11-6 victory over Glenbrook South in the title match at 4:30 p.m. St. Charles finished 3-0 in the tournament and sealed first place behind another explosive scoring effort from Selig, who poured in six goals in the final and helped deliver the decisive separation in the biggest game of the day.

The championship performance capped a complete team showing for the squad at Norths Pool. Barkalow added two goals in the final, Williams scored twice and He added one, giving St. Charles balanced support around Selig's finishing touch. In goal, Anderson and Collins combined for 14 saves, with seven apiece, a defensive backbone that kept Glenbrook South from building any sustained momentum. Glenbrook South got two goals from Oh and single goals from V Spuza, Kujawinksi, Cehan and Lane, but the Saints controlled the match well enough to stay in front and close it out.

The road to the title began early with an 11-6 win over Mundelein at 8:30 a.m. Selig set the tone immediately in that opener, scoring eight times, while Barkalow added three more. Collins stopped five shots and Anderson made six saves as the team handled both ends of the pool. Mundelein received one goal each from Chandresekera, Vale, Eager, McFadden, Rogers and Winters, but St. Charles had the top-end scoring to keep command of the match.

St. Charles followed with perhaps their most balanced effort of the day, a 14-3 win over Vernon Hills at 10:30 a.m. Barkalow, Selig, Williams and Li each scored three goals in a relentless attack, while Anderson and He added one apiece. Anderson recorded five saves and Collins had six more as St. Charles limited Vernon Hills almost from the start. Bokka scored all three goals for Vernon Hills, but the depth and pressure overwhelmed the field.

By day's end, St. Charles stood alone at the top of the final standings at 3-0, ahead of Glenbrook South (2-1), Hersey (2-1) and Mundelein (1-2). It was the kind of tournament performance that showcased exactly what makes this group dangerous, high-end scoring, steady goalkeeping and contributions across the lineup. St. Charles did not just win three games, they built momentum all day and finished it by lifting the home tournament trophy.
