Sujack’s milestone blast powers St. Charles East past Kaneland 11-0

Darren Howard | St Charles East High School | Apr 15, 2026

St. Charles East rolled past Kaneland 11-0 on Tuesday in Maple Park, and the night’s biggest swing belonged to Hayden Sujack. Sujack launched her 50th career home run, a milestone blast that moved her into the top 12 all-time in IHSA history and gave the Fighting Saints another signature moment in an already impressive start to the season.

The Fighting Saints set the tone with an offense that never let up. Brynn Maple turned in a standout performance at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a home run as St. Charles East consistently pressured the Knights from the first few innings on. With Sujack delivering the historic long ball and Maple piling up hit after hit, the Saints had the kind of balanced, explosive attack that has become a trend over the past week.

In the circle, the Saints were just as sharp. Van Dinther and Hannah Wulf combined for six shutout innings, with each pitcher working three scoreless frames to keep Kaneland off the board. The duo gave the Knights little room to breathe, and the clean pitching effort backed an offense that had already seized control. It was another encouraging showing for a staff that has been a major part of the team’s recent run.

The result continued a strong stretch for St. Charles East, which also posted recent wins over Glenbard North, Downers South and Downers Grove North. In those games, the Saints got key production throughout the lineup, including home runs from Sujack and Maple and steady work in the circle from Van Dinther and Wulf. Tuesday’s win at Kaneland looked like another example of a team finding rhythm in every phase heading deeper into the schedule.

The Fighting Saints left Maple Park with an 11-0 victory, a memorable career milestone for Sujack, and another all-around performance that reflected both talent and growing confidence. For St. Charles East, this one was equal parts dominant win and historic night.
