Knights claim back-to-back Gold W Invitational titles at Whitmer
The Varsity Track & Field team continued its early season momentum Friday night, winning the Whitmer Gold W Invitational for the second straight year behind a deep effort that featured multiple first-place finishes on the track.
The Knights were led by Brennan Higgins, who took first in the 3200M and also ran on the winning 4x800M relay. That relay team of Higgins, Scott Seymour, Lucas Martin and Will Dwyer added another key victory for the Knights, helping set the tone for a meet in which the Knights piled up points across distance, sprint and hurdle events.
The sprint relays were especially productive. The 4x100M team of Peter Mauder, Aman Hicks, Emeka Bowen and Jeremiah Lawrence finished first, and the 4x200M relay followed with another first place result from Peter Mauder, Jamele Croom, Braylon Pokrykwa and Connor Anspaugh.
The team also got an individual field event boost with a first place finish from Emeka Bowen in the triple jump. In the hurdles, Evor Grier delivered another event title with a first place finish in the 300M hurdles, adding to a growing list of standout performances for the Knights.
