Molina Scores Three Touchdowns as Silver Streaks Beat Uplift 30-22

CHICAGO, Ill. - Adam Molina scored three touchdowns and finished with more than 300 yards as Steinmetz College Prep defeated Uplift 30-22 on Saturday, Oct. 3, moving within one victory of a conference championship. Molina’s offensive production and a third-quarter interception by Parris Taylor helped the Silver Streaks secure the eight-point win.

Steinmetz scored on its opening possession when quarterback Joshua Mendez connected with Armoni Dean for a touchdown. Dean broke behind two defenders on a post route and caught Mendez’s pass for the game’s first score. The connection gave the Silver Streaks an early offensive breakthrough against Uplift.

Molina led the offense behind a line that included Kayden Jefferson, Pace, PJ, Coriuan Rice and Terrell. The group created running lanes and helped Steinmetz sustain drives, giving Molina room to break through Uplift’s defense. His three touchdowns accounted for most of the Silver Streaks’ scoring in a game played in light rain showers and 59-degree weather.

Taylor supplied a key defensive play in the third quarter, intercepting a pass to end an Uplift possession. With Uplift finishing just eight points behind, that stop complemented Steinmetz’s offensive production in a game that required contributions on both sides of the ball.

The Silver Streaks also recognized the support surrounding the team. Ms. Russo Mr. Sloan have attended almost every home and away game, drawing appreciation for their consistent presence. Families, teachers and students have joined that support throughout the season as Steinmetz has worked toward its conference title goal.

The victory leaves the Silver Streaks with one regular-season game remaining and a clear championship path. A win in that final game would give Steinmetz the conference championship.
