Togetherness Drives Silver Streaks Into Conference Stretch Run

Steinmetz College Prep has built its season around a clear belief: There is only one way to win, and that is together. The Silver Streaks enter the decisive portion of their schedule with a 3-2 overall record and a 2-0 conference mark, placing them atop the conference with three weeks remaining to determine the champion. Growth, shared responsibility and the ability to find different ways to win have shaped the team’s identity.

Adam Molina and Armoni Dean have been central to that progress. Molina has rushed for more than 750 yards and seven touchdowns as he again pursues the 1,000-yard mark. His consistency and toughness have made him an engine of the offense. Dean provides versatility across all three phases, contributing on offense and defense while also changing field position as a kickoff and punt returner. His ability to make an impact wherever he lines up gives Steinmetz a dependable spark.

The defense has developed playmakers in the secondary. Jeffrey Dean, who plays cornerback and safety, has recorded three interceptions and supplied a physical presence in the defensive backfield. Parris Taylor recently secured his first interception of the season and has become more active as a tackler. Taylor’s growing confidence and understanding of the game have added another dimension to a unit capable of creating turnovers.

Joshua Mendez has taken on one of the team’s largest challenges in his first season at quarterback. After previously playing defensive end and tight end, Mendez is learning to direct the offense, make decisions and lead the huddle. His development reflects the broader progress of a group that has asked players to accept new responsibilities and improve through every practice, mistake and game.

Steinmetz’s work up front has supported that transition. Senior lineman Coriuan Rice has stepped up on both sides of the ball, while sophomore Kayden Jefferson has helped lead the line. Freshman center Caligo Pace has shown promise early in his career. Hope Academy transfer Patrick Stephens has contributed to the running game and on both lines, and two-sport athlete Terrell Hardin has brought a physical, fast and aggressive presence in the trenches.

The closing stretch includes the Oct. 3 homecoming game against Uplift and the Oct. 10 regular-season finale. With the conference race still unsettled, the Silver Streaks must continue working as one group, block out outside noise and maintain their student-first, athlete-second standard. Different players have filled different roles, but Steinmetz enters its most important weeks with the same team and the same mission: win together.
