Trojans erupt for 11-run second inning in 22-1 win over Genoa Christian
Tree of Life Christian School broke the game open with an 11-run second inning and rolled past Genoa Christian 22-1 on Monday at Lou Berliner Sports Park in Columbus.
The Trojans scored just once in the first inning before the lineup erupted in the second, the decisive stretch of a game that quickly tilted in Tree of Life’s favor. From there, the Trojans kept pressure on Genoa Christian throughout the afternoon, pairing steady run production with clean defense behind a dominant outing on the mound.
Eli Vascura helped lead the offense by going 3 for 4 with two doubles, while Meshach Bishara also finished 3 for 4. David Frantz went 2 for 4 and reached base in all four of his plate appearances, giving the Trojans another consistent presence in the middle of the order. Tree of Life’s attack continued after the big second inning, turning an early close game into a lopsided result.
On the mound, Bubba Jackson delivered a complete-game effort and allowed only two hits while striking out six. Jackson controlled the game from the start and benefited from sharp play behind him as the Trojans completed the win without committing an error.
The combination of timely hitting, strong pitching and error-free defense gave Tree of Life a complete performance. After the slow start at the plate, the Trojans found their rhythm in the second inning and never let Genoa Christian back into the game, finishing with a 21-run victory.
