Eagles earn share of NOLL title with victory 14-4 over Olmsted Falls

Joe Magill | Avon High School | May 1, 2026

Avon’s girls lacrosse team posted a 14-4 victory over Olmsted Falls Thursday, earning the Eagles at least a share of the championship in the Northern Ohio Lacrosse League, their first in five years.

Junior Ella Schaffer led the way for Avon in a game that was a continuation of a contest that started on March 26 but was postponed in the middle of the first quarter due to thunderstorms. At the time the game was halted, the Eagles held a 4-2 lead. However, the lead was up to 10-3 by halftime and the Eagles were on their way.

Schaffer scored just 24 seconds into the restart and ended up with six goals against the Bulldogs. Her efforts moved her up to third on the program’s all-time scoring lists by posting her 150th goal and her 200th point.

Avon, 11-3 overall and 5-1 in NOLL play, also got two goals each from Brailynn Parker and Piper Guhde, with Maddie Fischer, Kara Patton and Mia Della Valle each adding a goal.

Next up for the Eagles is a trip to Victory Park Saturday to face St. Joseph Academy.
