Eagles roll through Perrysburg quad without losing a set
The Avon volleyball team traveled to Perrysburg Saturday to compete in a quadrangular, and the Eagles won all three matches, sweeping each opponent. Now 18-0 overall and 11-0 in Southwestern Conference play, Avon topped Millbury Lake, 25-14, 25-20, Perrysburg, 25-14, 25-22, and Findlay Liberty-Benton, 25-15, 25-16. Against Millbury Lake, Avon, which is ranked third in the state in Division II, was led by Londyn Stone with seven kills and Bethany Sherwood and Clare Freaney with six kills each. Lily Hamilton had 14 assists, and Ally Brediger had 11 digs. In the victory over Perrysburg, which was ranked seventh in the state in Division I last week, Hamilton had 12 assists, nine kills and four aces. Stone added seven kills and three aces, Sherwood had eight kills, and Brediger had 11 digs. The Eagles, who play at SWC foe Amherst on Thursday, finished the day by rolling past Liberty-Benton. Stone had eight kills, Hamilton had 13 assists and eight kills, and Peyton Reinart had five blocks and four kills.
