Avon’s volleyball team struggled with consistency while being swept by visiting Midview Tuesday in a Southwestern Conference match. Falling by the scores of 25-18, 25-23, 25-21, the Eagles are now 10-5 overall and 8-4 in SWC play.
Clare Freaney led Avon with 14 kills and two blocks, while Lucy Lee added nine kills and two aces. Ally Brediger topped the Eagles with 23 digs, and Madison Demmerle had 14 assists.
The schedule doesn’t get any easier for Avon, which travels on Thursday to face Mentor, last year’s state runner-up in Division I.
