Team effort helps Eagles win 12th consecutive volleyball match
Several team members were among the statistical leaders Tuesday as the Avon volleyball team continued its undefeated ways, sweeping visiting North Ridgeville in Southwestern Conference play, 25-17, 25-22, 25-21. Duquesne recruit Londyn Stone had nine digs, eight kills and two aces, while Ashland commit Lily Hamilton had 17 assists, 11 digs and five kills. Bethany Sherwood, headed to Johns Hopkins next year, controlled the net with 11 kills and four blocks. In addition, Peyton Reinart had seven kills and three blocks, Ally Brediger had 14 digs and two aces, and Caroline Busold had three aces and 11 digs. Avon, 12-0 overall and 8-0 in SWC play, plays at Olmsted Falls Thursday. The Bulldogs are 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the conference and are one of two teams to take a set from the Eagles.
