Bay High School Rockets Faced Off Against Normandy Invaders in Home Baseball Game
On Monday, May 12, 2025, during a regular season conference baseball game at their home field, the Bay Varsity Rockets competed against the Normandy Invaders. The mostly cloudy and mild weather set the stage, where Bay High School sought to defend its turf. However, despite their efforts, the Rockets fell to the Invaders with a final score of 2-5. The Rockets got things started in the second inning when Trevor Ormsby got things started with a single in the second inning. He advanced to second on an error off the bat of Travis Ropelewski. Andrew Liatti kept things going and drove in Ormsby with a base hit to right field. Later in the game, the Rockets tried to claw back being down 4 in the bottom of the fifth. Caleb Rinehart got a base hit to left field and reached safely on a steal to second base. Patrick Cleary put the ball in play and reached on error allowing Rinehart to score from second. On the pitching front, Will Schrock started for the Rockets, delivering a solid 4.2 innings while striking out six and allowing 5 earned runs. Andrew Liatti then took over, pitching 2.1 innings with one strikeout and managing to hold the Invaders to just 2 hits. Despite the strong individual performances, the Rockets could not overtake the lead held by the Normandy Invaders. Looking ahead, the Rockets are set to face the Normandy Invaders once again on the very next day, May 13, 2025, at Normandy High School. The Rockets, currently with a season record of 8-11, are gearing up to challenge their rivals in another crucial matchup.
