Bay High School Rockets Secure Victory Over North Olmsted Eagles in Varsity Baseball Showdown

In an exhilarating varsity baseball showdown on April 22, 2025, the Bay High School Rockets clinched a hard-fought victory against the North Olmsted Varsity Eagles with a final score of 9-7. The sunny afternoon showcase at home saw the Rockets rise to a commendable 5-4 season record in this regular season conference game. The Rockets' offensive lineup was on fire with several players making significant contributions. Caleb Rinehart, Charlie Rodgers, and Ethan Sedivec led the way, each scoring two runs. Meanwhile, Jackson Ziemnik, Trevor Ormsby, and Andrew Liatti each added a run to round out the scoring effort. The team's ability to drive players home was evident as Ethan Sedivec and Patrick Cleary spearheaded the RBIs with two each, accompanied by a strong supporting cast that ensured the Rockets stayed ahead. Pitching was key in Bay High School's strategy, starting with Johnny Veverka taking the mound before handing over duties to Andrew Liatti, who not only steadied the game with 4.1 innings of one-run ball but also recorded his first varsity win. Charlie Rodgers closed the game strongly, adding a crucial inning with one strikeout. Liatti's all-around performance was particularly noteworthy as he went 1-2 at the plate, coupled with an RBI, a run scored, and a walk. Additional standout performances included Jackson Ziemnik, who went 3-4 with an RBI and a run, and Charlie Rodgers, who had a multi-hit game including a double. Ethan Sedivec also went 1-2 with a double and had 2RBIs in the game. Looking ahead, the Rockets are set to face the Benedictine Bengals at Luke Easter Park - CC Sabathia Field on April 23, 2025. As they prepare for this next challenge, the team carries forward the momentum from a performance filled with strategic plays and exceptional teamwork.
