Alexis Dugan | Bay High School | May 13, 2025

In a warm and sunny afternoon at Bay High School, the Bay Rockets Softball competed fiercely against Buckeye in this regular season conference softball game. The match, held on May 12, 2025, saw the Rockets facing challenging competition that ultimately led to a final score of Buckeye 10, Bay Rockets 0. The game was marked by a touching moment before the start, as both teams united to honor the memory of Dylan Veselic, a Bay High School lacrosse player, who tragically passed away last week. Players and attendees showed their respect and support, making the competition about more than just a win or a loss, but a community coming together for a bigger cause. Despite the display of unity and sportsmanship, the Rockets could not secure a win against Buckeye, with Buckeye leading decisively throughout the game. The Rockets' starting pitcher, Katie Sommers, showed resilience as she faced a strong Buckeye team. Although it was a tough day for the Rockets, the commitment of Sommers and her teammates remained apparent. Looking ahead, the Bay High School Rockets are set to meet Valley Forge in their next game scheduled for May 13, 2025, at the Bay Highschool. The Rockets will be celebrating senior night - please come out to support our senior!
