Bay High School Rockets Varsity Softball Falls to Westlake in Sectional Game

In a challenging Sectional softball game on May 15, 2025, the Bay Rockets team faced a tough defeat against Westlake, concluding with a final score of 1-15 at Westlake High School. The game was played under clear, sunny skies, setting an ideal stage for a softball game, albeit with a disappointing outcome for the Rockets. The game began with Westlake taking an aggressive stand. Early in the game, Westlake's offense was sparked by Knapp's triple, quickly followed by Rocco's triple, laying down a strong foundation for their lead. Throughout the game, the Westlake team maintained their momentum, continuously building on their early advantage, and demonstrating solid gameplay. Despite the efforts from the Rockets, they were only able to secure a single run, thanks to A Bottone who scored. Lizzie McFarland contributed with an RBI, and Katie Sommers started as pitcher for Bay High School, putting up a strong resistance against a relentless Westlake offense. Looking ahead, the Bay High School Rockets are scheduled to meet Rocky River for their next game on May 21, 2025, at Rocky River High School.
