Bay Rockets Softball Overwhelmed by North Olmsted in Rescheduled Bout
In a regular season conference game that had to be completed over two days due to inclement weather, the Bay Rockets Varsity Softball team suffered a tough loss against the North Olmsted Eagles, closing with a final score of 10-0 at Bay High School.
The game, originally started on Monday, faced an interruption due to rainy, snowy, and cold conditions, leading to its conclusion on Wednesday. Despite the challenging weather, the North Olmsted Eagles soared early, putting up five runs in the initial inning. The Eagles capitalized on a series of errors by the Rockets, extending their lead and ultimately sealing the game.
Bay's starting pitcher, Katie Sommers, faced a formidable Eagles lineup that pressured the Rockets from the outset. Offensively, Caitie Petersen led the Rockets, going 2-for-3 at the plate, while freshmen Payton Masterson contributed with a double and sophomore Lizzie McFarland added a triple.
Looking ahead, the Rockets, now holding a 1-3 record, aim to regroup and capture a win in their next game. They are set to face Chagrin Falls at home on April 10, where they will look to shift their momentum and improve their standing this season.
