Bay Varsity Rockets Suffer Defeat Against Lakewood Rangers in Regular Season Conference Baseball Game

In a challenging regular season conference baseball battle, the Bay High School Varsity Rockets fell to the Lakewood Rangers with a final score of 7-0 on May 6, 2025. The game took place away from home under partly sunny skies, where the Rockets struggled to secure runs against a strong Lakewood team. Bay High School's starting pitcher, Trevor Ormsby, faced a tough Lakewood lineup, allowing five earned runs over four innings and striking out three. Johnny Veverka also pitched for the Rockets, giving up one earned run in two innings. Despite efforts from the Rockets' pitching staff, Lakewood's hitters proved formidable. L Legato, R Verderber, and C Russell each contributed home runs to Lakewood's robust offensive display. For the Rockets, Ethan Sedivec managed to earn 2 total bases, albeit in a losing cause. The Bay High School's team will need to regroup as they prepare for their next game against the Rocky River Pirates on May 8, 2025, in Rocky River. The Rockets now sit with a record of 8-9 as they aim to bounce back and improve in the standings.
