Elgin High School Comets Golf Team Shines at Ridgedale Invite
The Comets Golf Team of Elgin High School showcased remarkable performances at the Ridgedale Invite held on September 10, 2025. The tournament, hosted at the Three Sticks golf course, featured both Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls squaring off against multiple schools, including Ridgedale, Waynesfield, Hardin Northern, Lima Temple, and Perry.
Competing in an 18 hole stroke play format under warm sunny conditions, the Comets excelled. Xavier Compton led the team with an impressive score of 84, marking the best performance of the day for the Comets. Following closely, Miley Corbin finished the course with an 85, while Bridon Rhodes and the pair of Logan Isler and Kaylee Crist rounded out the team's top scores with 93 and 95 respectively.
In reflecting on the team's performance, Coach Yager expressed optimism, remarking, 'We saw a lot of improvement today. We are playing well going into tournaments.' The Comets are scheduled to face River Valley next at Kings Mill, continuing their season with momentum from their strong outing at the Ridgedale Invite.
