Elgin High School Comets Triumph in Volleyball Battle Against Hardin Northern
In a thrilling regular season league volleyball match, the Elgin High School Comets varsity girls team hosted the Hardin Northern Polar Bears on August 28, 2025, prevailing with a 3-1 victory.
The match opened with an intense first set that saw the Comets edged out the Polar Bears with a nail-biting score of 28-26. Despite a setback in the second set, where the Polar Bears fought back to win 28-26, the Comets demonstrated resilience and formidable skill. They bounced back in the third set, securing a commanding 25-17 victory and continued their momentum into the fourth set, which they clinched with a score of 25-20.
Key players included Jordan Wall, who led the match with an impressive 20 kills, followed closely by Kadence Gear with 15 kills and 22 assists, revealing a dual threat on the court. Maycee Muselin also shone both in offense and defense, contributing 11 kills and participating actively in blocks alongside Halie Leonard and Kendra Appelfeller. Crucial digs were made by Jocelyn Wall, who topped the list with 29 saves, strengthening the Comets' defenses.
