Fostoria Takes Third Behind Xander Buess's 44 in Three-Team Match

Fostoria finished third with a team score of 201 in a nine-hole, three-team boys golf match, led by Xander Buess's round of 44. Riverdale won with a 177, while North Baltimore placed second at 187.
Xander Buess recorded Fostoria's lowest score and finished four strokes behind match medalist Collin Vent of Riverdale, who shot a 40. Mason Cooley followed with a 47 for the Redmen, giving Fostoria two counting rounds below 50.
Aiden Moffatt added a 50 as Fostoria's third counting score. NaShon Harper completed the Redmen's team total with a 60. Together, the four rounds produced Fostoria's final score of 201, 14 strokes behind North Baltimore and 24 behind Riverdale.
Fostoria also received noncounting rounds from Brady Moffatt and Jason Haase. Brady Moffatt finished with a 65, and Jason Haase carded an 80. Although those scores did not factor into the team total, they completed the Redmen's six-player lineup for the match.
Riverdale built its winning total with four counting rounds of 40, 45, 46 and 46. North Baltimore countered with scores of 43, 46, 48 and 50, led by Jayce's 43. Fostoria's strongest rounds came from Xander Buess and Mason Cooley, whose combined 91 kept the Redmen within range of the second-place team through the top of the lineup.
