Grant Union’s junior varsity football team turned a strong two-way effort into a 38-22 victory over Culver on Monday, Sept. 14, at Grant Union High School. The Prospectors’ ability to rely on younger players throughout the game, including freshmen who handled responsibilities on both offense and defense, proved decisive in the home win.

The 38-point performance reflected a productive day for Grant Union’s offense. The Prospectors generated enough consistent production to build a 16-point advantage by the final whistle. The team also answered the demands of playing a full game against a Culver squad that scored 22 points.

Bryant Baker and Danner May delivered standout performances for Grant Union. Their play helped set the tone for a young lineup that embraced the challenge, competed with confidence and gave the Prospectors contributions in multiple phases of the game.

The freshmen’s extended playing time was another encouraging part of the victory. Several played on both sides of the ball for most of the game, gaining valuable experience while helping Grant Union secure the result. That willingness to take on expanded roles showed the developing depth within the program and made the win especially rewarding for the team.

Beyond the final score, the performance gave the Prospectors a positive foundation to build upon. Grant Union’s younger players showed they could handle substantial snaps, work together and finish a home game with a convincing victory. Grant Union will next travel to face Weston-McEwen on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at 7 p.m.
