Grant Union Volleyball Prepares for Season With Purpose and Teamwork

Dennise Blevins | Grant Union High School | Aug 26, 2026

Our Grant Union High School volleyball team is preparing to open the season at a tournament Aug. 29, beginning at 9 a.m. After a productive summer camp and weeks of preseason practices, the Prospectors are excited to compete and show how much this group has grown together.

Several players have stepped into new positions and embraced the work required to learn unfamiliar roles. Throughout that process, our team has focused on communication, teamwork and positive attitudes, both on and off the court. Those habits are helping us build trust and establish the foundation we will need when matches become challenging.

We are working to develop a strong, aggressive offense backed by a scrappy, hardworking defense. Our success will depend on trusting one another, competing for every point and refusing to give up. The team understands that improvement comes through consistent effort, and our players continue to meet each practice with energy and a willingness to learn.

Coach Mariah Moulton
We will be playing for something bigger—for our team, our school, our community, and in honor of our lost teammate, Timber Winegar.

This season also carries a purpose greater than wins and losses. We will play for our teammates, our school and our community while honoring our lost teammate, Timber Winegar. We hope to carry Timber’s spirit with us throughout the season by playing with heart, toughness and joy, along with the same love for volleyball that she brought to our team.

We look forward to seeing what this group can accomplish and sharing the season with our Prospectors community. Join us as the journey begins Aug. 29 at 9 a.m., and help us support a team committed to competing together and playing each point with purpose.
