Junior High Prospectors Celebrate 24-0 Football Win
We’re celebrating a hard-fought win for Grant Union High School’s junior high sixth- and seventh-grade football team! Our Prospectors defeated Adrian 24-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 6, pairing three touchdowns from Coyle VanCleave with a shutout on defense. It was a result worth celebrating across our school community, with contributions on both sides of the ball giving our young players plenty to be proud of.
Coyle VanCleave scored all three of our touchdowns, leading the scoring effort in the victory. That standout performance provided the biggest offensive highlight of the game, but our celebration extends to the team effort behind the final score. A hard-fought win recognizes more than the points on the scoreboard, and this game gave us several individual contributions to applaud.
Weston Lieuallen and Levi Hueckman teamed up for a pair of catches, adding their contributions to the offense. Alongside Coyle VanCleave’s three-touchdown performance, those receptions belong among the highlights of Tuesday’s game. Congratulations to our players for their part in bringing home a 24-0 victory and giving families, fellow students and staff a strong result to celebrate.
Our defense deserves recognition, too. Hank Giffin and Rhys Young stood out with multiple tackles and stops, helping our Prospectors keep Adrian off the scoreboard. Their defensive contributions complemented the offensive highlights and helped complete the shutout victory.
