Junior High Prospectors Celebrate Volleyball Wins

We have plenty to celebrate after a busy week of volleyball for our Grant Union High School teams! On Oct. 1, our A and B teams both came out strong and defeated Pilot Rock in two sets. Our C team did not get to play because Pilot Rock did not have enough players, but the following day brought a chance for all three teams to take the court.

We traveled to Union on Oct. 2, where our C team earned a two-set victory. Our B team won the opening set before Union rallied to take the next two, but our girls kept fighting and working hard throughout the match. Our A team finished with a strong performance, beating the Union Bobcats in two sets to complete another successful day for the Prospectors.

Riley Hansen and Drewsey Watterson delivered strong serving runs that helped us build leads at Union. We also saw great chemistry on the court. When communication lapses led to errors, our players adjusted quickly and kept working together. We are proud of the effort across all three teams, and this group has been a joy to watch compete.

Our spotlight player of the week is Sam Reitz! Her serving and passing have been huge assets to the team, and her uplifting attitude adds just as much to our group. Reitz works hard and continues to improve each week. We are thankful for the work she puts in and excited to watch her keep growing throughout the season.

Another busy week is ahead: We play away at Crane on Oct. 8, host Baker on Oct. 9 and head to Burns for the A team tournament on Oct. 10. Families, students, fans and staff, mark your calendars and help us cheer on our players. We look forward to seeing your support as the Prospectors take the court again!
