Prospectors Celebrate 36-26 Middle School Football Win Over Pilot Rock

Dennise Blevins | Grant Union High School | Oct 2, 2026

We’re celebrating a team effort and a 36-26 victory! Grant Union High School’s middle school football team earned the win over Pilot Rock on Thursday, October 1, with hard running, rushing touchdowns from both quarterbacks and an 80-yard touchdown connection. Our Prospectors have plenty to be proud of after a good game in which everyone contributed and carried out their assignments.

Cooper Cobb brought a strong effort to the running game, carrying the ball close to 10 times and running hard for our team. Cobb’s work was part of an offensive performance that featured contributions from several players, giving us multiple names to celebrate alongside the final score.

Quarterbacks Rahlen and Coyle each added a rushing touchdown. Both helped our scoring effort on the ground, adding to the work of Cobb and their teammates. Their touchdowns were important contributions in a game the Prospectors finished with 36 points.

Later in the third quarter, Coyle connected with Weston on a slant route for an 80-yard touchdown. That long scoring play added a standout moment to the afternoon and highlighted the passing game alongside our rushing contributions.

We’re proud of the whole group for playing well and doing their jobs. The individual highlights deserve recognition, but everyone’s contributions helped us finish with a 36-26 win over Pilot Rock.
