Prospectors Defeat PC 30-14 Behind Strong Ground Game and Defensive Stops
Grant Union High School’s junior high Prospectors earned a 30-14 football win over PC on Oct. 15, powered by an effective running game and big defensive plays. Our defense came through with multiple fourth-down stops, making those critical situations a highlight of the game.
Cooper Cobb helped lead our rushing attack, carrying the ball roughly 10 times and scoring a touchdown. Our offense found success on the ground, with Cobb’s work at running back providing an important part of the scoring effort against PC.
The defensive effort also included a couple of turnovers. Along with the fourth-down stops, those takeaways gave us several important moments to celebrate on that side of the ball. It was a game in which our offense and defense both made contributions to the win.
We’re proud of how our team competed throughout a year that included several close games we felt we could have won. Against PC, Coyle VanCleave delivered the decisive play, returning an interception for a touchdown to put the game away for the Prospectors.
