JOHN_DAY, Ore. - Grant Union High School held Four Rivers scoreless but could not find a goal of its own, finishing in a 0-0 draw Saturday, September 26, in Ontario, Oregon. The return of Artemis McKnab and Aubri Judd from injuries helped the Prospectors’ defense secure the shutout.
McKnab and Judd both made significant defensive contributions in their return to action. Their availability gave Grant Union two returning players to help keep Four Rivers off the scoreboard. The defensive effort was the clearest positive for the Prospectors, who finished without conceding a goal while playing away from home.
Grant Union’s difficulty came at the attacking end, where the Prospectors could not produce enough shots on goal to turn their defensive work into a victory. The team played well overall, but that performance did not yield a breakthrough. Neither side recorded a goal, leaving the match level at the final whistle despite Grant Union’s contributions across the lineup.
The result marked the second tie between Grant Union and Four Rivers this season, with neither meeting producing a winner. For the Prospectors, this draw paired a scoreless defensive performance with an attack that fell short of finding the deciding goal. The Prospectors will look to bounce back in their next contest on Saturday, October 3, against Nyssa.
