Prospectors Run Past Adrian 36-22 Behind Three Long Touchdowns
The Grant Union Prospectors combined an efficient rushing attack with a game-defining defensive touchdown to defeat Adrian 36-22 on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Wyatt Lieuallen broke loose for three long touchdown runs, and Mikey Thunell returned an interception for a score to help secure the 14-point victory.
Grant Union consistently moved the ball down the field and turned that production into four rushing touchdowns. Lieuallen delivered the biggest plays, scoring three times on long runs that allowed the Prospectors to create separation. Jack Fisher added another rushing touchdown as Grant Union maintained a balanced team effort around its productive ground game.
The Prospectors also received a strong performance from their defense. Grant Union played physically throughout the game, limiting Adrian enough to protect the lead while producing the afternoon’s biggest defensive play. Thunell intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, giving the Prospectors a critical scoring contribution outside the offense.
That interception return capped a complete performance in which Grant Union found multiple ways to score. The offense supplied explosive runs and sustained drives, while the defense answered with stops and a touchdown of its own. Adrian finished with 22 points, but the Prospectors’ five touchdowns across the rushing attack and defense powered them to 36.
Grant Union Junio High will play Heppner at 5pm PDT Thursday, Sept. 10. The Prospectors will look to carry forward the efficient ball movement, explosive rushing plays and opportunistic defense that shaped the win over Adrian.
