Embry-Riddle takes early lead at GSAC Women’s Golf Championship as Mantini, Ulibarri share top spot
LOMPOC, Calif. - Embry-Riddle opened the 2026 GSAC Women’s Golf Championship with a 314, 26 over par, to build a nine-shot lead after the first 18 holes Monday at La Purisima Golf Course. OUAZ sits second at 323 (+35), while Arizona Christian is third at 328 (+40) in the women’s event.
The Eagles created separation with depth throughout the lineup, placing four golfers inside the top 10. Bellamaria Mantini helped anchor that effort by carding a 75 (+3), which left her tied for first on the individual leaderboard with The Master’s Hannah Ulibarri. Charlotte Giffin added a 78 (+6), Lila Becker shot 80 (+8), Olivia Zamarripa posted an 81 (+9), and Emma Marshall finished with an 85 (+13).
Ulibarri’s 75 was one of the strongest rounds of the day and kept The Master’s in the individual race despite the team standing fourth at 355 (+67). OUAZ remained within reach in the team competition behind Alayna Lekkerkerk, who shot a 77 (+5) to take sole possession of third place individually. Arizona Christian also positioned itself well for the second round, led by Nikki Bowen’s 78 (+6), which left her tied for fourth with Giffin.
Arizona Christian placed three golfers inside the top 15. Taylor Crowder came in with an 82 (+10), while Elizabeth Felix and Grace Shaddle each shot 84 (+12) to tie for 14th. Hope International’s Ylianna Fernandez also worked into the top of the field, joining Becker in a tie for sixth after each posted an 80 (+8).
Behind the top three teams, the rest of the standings include The Master’s in fourth, Simpson in fifth at 383 (+95), and Soka in sixth at 414 (+126). The championship is being contested on the par-72, 5,930-yard layout at La Purisima GCS, where the leaderboard remains compact behind the leaders even after Embry-Riddle’s strong opening round.
Round two is scheduled to begin at 11:50 a.m. Tuesday in Lompoc, with Embry-Riddle carrying the team lead and Mantini sharing the individual lead with Ulibarri heading into the next 18 holes.
