Holy Name High School Girls Tennis Faces Narrow Defeat at Normandy
In an intense match, the Holy Name High School girls tennis team was narrowly defeated by the Normandy Invaders, 2-3, at Normandy High School on September 3, 2024. Despite a hard-fought battle and several standout performances from Holy Name players, the team could not secure a victory. First singles player Lauren Bleakley showcased exceptional skill, winning her match after a thrilling first-set tiebreaker, with final scores of 7-6 (8-6), 6-1. In addition to Bleakley’s success, senior Erin Yesenko also distinguished herself by winning her singles match decisively, 8-1. The doubles segment also brought some positive news for Holy Name, as all three JV doubles teams emerged victorious in their contests. Although the overall outcome was not in favor of Holy Name, these individual victories highlight the depth and potential of the team.
