Holy Name High School Secures Shutout Victory Over Niles McKinley in Week 2 Football Showdown

In a captivating showdown last night, the Green Wave clinched an impressive shutout win against Niles McKinley, ending the game with a 14-0 scoreline at Bo Rein Memorial Stadium. Under warm and humid conditions, both teams displayed vigor, but it was Holy Name that seized control in key moments. The highlight of the night came just before half-time when Harrison Frank charged across the line for a crucial 2-yard touchdown run, nudging Holy Name ahead. This strategic play, occurring with only 17 seconds remaining in the first half, boosted morale and set the tone for the remainder of the game. Jovan Myles played a pivotal role in keeping the ball on the ground, helping Holy Name maintain dominance offensively. Jawan Bryant also made significant contributions, scoring a touchdown which helped seal the deal for Holy Name. On the defensive front, the team performed exceptionally as a unit led by Senior Aidan Butler. The defense forced several turnovers, achieving a complete shutdown of the Red Dragons' attempts to score. With this win, Holy Name's record moves to 1-1 for the season. The team prepares to continue their campaign on September 6 at Serpentini Stadium against Marion Franklin (Senior Night), where they aim to build on their current momentum and chase another victory.
