Imbler capped a strong tournament run by sweeping Union 25-9, 25-12 in the championship match to win the Hannah Cashell Tournament on Saturday. The Panthers controlled both sets of the final, producing their most decisive result of the bracket after navigating a mixed pool-play schedule and a three-set rematch with Pendleton.

The Panthers opened pool play with a 25-20, 25-11 sweep of Vallivue, Idaho. Imbler then split two sets with Pendleton, dropping the opener 25-21 before responding with a 25-18 win. The final pool-play match against La Pine also ended in a split. Imbler won the first set 25-22, but La Pine answered with a 25-23 victory in the second.

A bracket rematch with Pendleton became the tournament's turning point. After losing the opening set 25-17, the Panthers recovered to take the second 25-20 and carried that momentum into a 15-10 victory in the deciding set. The three-set win ignited Imbler, which did not drop another set during the remainder of the tournament.

Head Coach Jennifer Teeter
Today was definitely a test of our physical and mental toughness. I am so proud of our team for winning this highly competitive tournament.

Imbler followed by sweeping La Pine 25-13, 25-22 to secure its place in the championship match. The Panthers then delivered their sharpest two-set performance against Union, allowing only nine points in the opening set and 12 in the second to complete the title run.

Outside hitter Isla Howard led Imbler's attack with 44 kills across the tournament, while fellow outside hitter Jeytt added 35. The Panthers also received consistent production through the middle, with London Kunz recording 21 kills and Brymlee Morehead adding 24. Setter Whitney Haddock directed the offense with 110 assists, and libero Olivia Haddock finished 55 of 56 from the service line.

The championship gave Imbler a strong start to its tournament schedule, highlighted by its response after early split results and the comeback against Pendleton. The Panthers will next travel to face Heppner at 6 p.m. PDT on Thursday, Sept. 3.
