Indian Valley pulls away with three-run fifth, tops Tuscarawas Valley 12-7

ZOARVILLE, Ohio - Indian Valley broke open a tight game with a three-run fifth inning and kept adding on Wednesday night, beating Tuscarawas Valley 12-7 in a high-scoring conference matchup.
The Braves trailed 3-1 after two innings before climbing back even with two runs in the third. Indian Valley moved in front for good with a run in the fourth, then created separation in the fifth when the lineup pushed across three runs for a 7-3 advantage. The Braves scored in six of seven innings overall, putting up runs in the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh while finishing with 16 hits.
Hayden Beaber led the offensive production with a perfect 5-for-5 night and scored three runs, setting the tone for an Indian Valley lineup that hit .500 as a team. Deagan Beaber added four RBIs, helping turn repeated traffic on the bases into runs. Indian Valley also showed aggressiveness throughout the night with seven stolen bases and extra-base production that included three doubles and a triple.
Tuscarawas Valley scored in the first and second innings to take the early lead, and the hosts added two runs in both the sixth and seventh to keep pressure on late. But Indian Valley answered nearly every time. After the fifth-inning surge, the Braves added two more runs in the sixth for a 9-5 lead, then closed their scoring with three runs in the seventh to reach 12. Tuscarawas Valley finished with seven runs on 12 hits.
On the mound, junior Cam Enama earned the win for Indian Valley. He worked 3 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and three runs, only one earned, while striking out four and walking three. Ryker Williams covered the final 3 1/3 innings, striking out three. As a staff, Indian Valley pitchers recorded seven strikeouts over seven innings.
The Braves finished with 12 runs, 16 hits and nine RBIs in one of their most productive offensive outings of the season. Wednesday's game at Tuscarawas Valley featured scoring in every inning except the second for Indian Valley, and the decisive push came in the fifth, when the Braves turned a one-run lead into a cushion they did not give back.
